my boyfriend and his friends went to cornerstone over the weekend and two of them were drugged. tried calling the manager/security to see if i could figure out what happened & no response whatsoever. would consider this an unsafe place for men and women
If I could I wouldn't leave any star..... Waited in the line an hour yesterday, I arrived at the security thing at the entrance, and they would not let me in just because I am french!! Even though I am living in Raleigh since a few years! Another girl had the same problem in the group just before me. Could not get in because she was french, even though she was living in Miami since a few years. What kind of discrimination is that??? And of course, when I ask why, nobody can explain. All they say is "we're a private establishment, we make the rules we want". Just WOW
This is the most unprofessional place that I have ever been. The owner said that he did not accept "black dollars"...how rude and racist is that. Be careful when going here, everything sucks from the food to the mixed drinks...save yourself and go somewhere else!
I am traumatized by my experience there. I was assaulted and the bouncers found me laying in the bathroom covered in my blood, they roughly picked me up ( I have the bruises to prove it ) and put me in the dirt outside. This all happened this past Friday night/ Saturday morning. There are no cameras inside to show what might’ve happened to me. I hope to find out something. As for this bar, I will never return and I hope none of my friends do as I’m worried for their safety.
This place is definitely not worth your time or money. The bouncers are rude and violent. One of them grabbed my sisters arm so hard last night, she now has bruises on her arm and that is unacceptable! This place does not even deserve the one star! There are so many better places to go to in Raleigh than Cornerstone Tavern.
This bar is xenophobic. They were exclusively accepting U.S. citizens. I had a relative visiting for a week from another country and they weren’t permitted to enter the bar because they were using a passport as identification. Absolutely unbelievable. Can’t believe a business like this exists in Raleigh.
This is definitely the worse bar in NC. They sell beer at 1:59pm the staff comes at 2:05am telling us we have to leave and when explained that we just purchased a drink to let us finish it the called security to kick us out. We tried to explain the bouncer that we just bought a drink he come to us to kick us out and tried to hit one of my friends and called the police. They do that every night to minorities, latinos and African Americans. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS ESTABLISHMENT
Make sure you check your bank accounts because the bartenders steal from people who use cards. I bought a six dollar drink and they charged me 12 dollars and put that I gave them a 6 dollar tip. Found out about this today so I will call them tonight when they open. If you chose to go to this bar make sure you bring cash because they will steal from you and forge things on your receipts. Wouldn’t recommend going to this place every again.
I went to this place with my friends for her birthday party. it has a great crowd and great location. However, they stolen my money from my credit card. So, I ordered few drinks and asked for my check and I paid it with some tips. After few days when actually my transaction cleared, they charged me my check plus i left tips PLUS THEY ADDED $5-6 more by THEMSELVES. I think they do so when they feel guys are pretty much drunk so they don't remember about it, but I was all sober and all i had was just a beer and ordered few drinks for my friends. I call it stealing their customers by charging more than what their customers left for them. Just be aware about your credit card transaction when you swipe it at this place. I have called them and there is no respond to voice notes and messages i left to the authorities, that indicates, they all know what is happening at their bar and they sort of allow that malpractice to rip their customers off. Simply disgraceful and not at all acceptable behavior.
Some of the bartenders will add their own tips to your tab. All I had was a rum and coke and they charged me $16. I know there is a $10 minimum but that doesn’t add up
In the last several weeks, the owner of Cornerstone Tavern made a decision to stop playing hip hop and hire more white bouncers in order to attract in their words "a better crowd". Aka: a white crowd. No race or culture is better than another. Diversity and inclusivity are what make Raleigh a beautiful place to live. Business decisions like this are disgusting, racist and unacceptable.
Tips them self higher then what you left. Thinks you’ll be too drunk to check or remember. Keep your receipts. Did not expect this from them.
the bouncers are really rude. Won’t come back.
Racist people . The bouncer didn't let us in because we are Hispanics . He told us to get out line and told us "that's why I voted for Trump" . Can't believe I experienced my first racial discrimination in a beautiful city like Raleigh. My father is a lawyer and we will get to the bottom of this. Just be careful people .

So as you can see I have a very distinctive last name! I went there in a week night so the place wasn't busy started a tap had couple of beer and when I went to close out the bartender told me that tap was already closed!!!! He told me there were number of drinks on that tap and none of them was beer!! I was like "dude look at me you served me those beer and you remember me for sure because there are less that 20 people here beside there can't be someone with my exact last name here" he said there is nothing I can do about it!!!(last name was El-Ga'aly)
Went here on Halloween. They let me in no problem but when my older friend from Portugal here on an exchange program with my company tried getting in they gave him issues. He's 40, but they required US ID. Fair. But they were only wanting young people that night. When I went to my friend and the bouncer and explained he was 40, the bouncer pushed me and yelled at me to "stay back". I went to leave after the assault and the bouncer pushed me again and said I had to leave out the " exit route" (a power trip on his end). I'm a 140 pound gay man and was wearing a jazzercise costume. If this bouncer felt threatened by me who knows what he would do to anyone else .long story short, this dive bar isn't worth anybody's time or money with abusive staff like that.
if i could give this place 0 stars i would. horrible bouncers they are sooo rude and watch out they may charge your card for tips you didn't leave.
Will never go again. I ordered a $6 drink and was told it was a $10 minimum to use my card. Okay cool let me get another $6 drink. Because the bartender was extremely rude with me I closed my tab out and did not tip as he didn’t deserve a tip for poor service. Well I just got my bank statement & look what I see a damn tip added to my card. Luckily I kept my receipt and have submitted a fraudulent claim with my bank. I will never go here again
be careful using your debit card here. The amount that I was billed to my account was more than what I put on my receipt.
a bouncer at this bar had the nerve to put his hands on my sister last night. men should not feel entitled enough to handle women in a disrespectful manner, whether if they are fake security or not! this treatment is absolutley unacceptable & something needs to be done!
I am seeing a lot of reviews where cornerstone has been adding "additional" tips onto credit cards, so i checked mine and they did this to me as well. Watch out for these scammers! Complete dishonesty! They definitely lost a customer!! Be careful paying with a credit card here!!
Racially profiled by security. Worst service possible
Racist bouncers, they will find a reason to kick you out, I literally did nothing, and I was banned, FOR LIFE, bouncers are trash, willing to make up stories to kick you out for life.
Terrible! Management is racist and they will write in tips for you. Never going back!
Been coming here for years now but they recently started tipping themselves on my credit card. Charging different amounts for the same drink. It's overall fraudulent credit card charges. Use cash if you go and keep track of your receipts.
I used to like cornerstone until last Saturday night. I went with a group of 5 people, one of whom is black. Me and my black friend got through the bouncers at the gate and walked up to enter the building, my 3 other white friends were a little behind us. The bouncer wouldn't let us in and made me and my black friend walk around back, he then immediately let in my 3 white friends. I was so shocked I didn't know how to respond. I haven't seen such blatant nasty racism in a very long time. The kicker was that as we walked around to the back my friend apologized to me. I hope this experience never happens again, or to anyone else. I used to like cornerstone tavern but out of principle I can't go back there.
